Sara and Daniel ~ Autumn at Woodend
A few weekends ago we catered the wedding of Sara and Daniel at Woodend Mansion in Chevy Chase, MD. It was a perfect early autumn day and the event really turned out to be amazing. We especially loved the purple and green linens they chose! Their menu for the big day included Summer Veggie Spring Rolls, Lemon-Parmesan Artichoke Bottoms, Shots of Butternut Squash Soup, a Spring Layered Mosaic with Hearts of Palm, Roasted Artichokes, Yellow Tomato, Mango, Papaya and Avocado, Soy-Miso Marinated Sea Bass and Portobellos with Ratatouille.
Congratulations to this fantastic couple!

We never took the chance to officially introduce a couple of new faces to the Capitol Catering Team. Hayley Platt is a new addition to our sales team, Jena Slinde is our new bookkeeper, and Matt Metzbower is a wonderful addition to our kitchen. They have actually been with us for a couple of months now. (A very late) Welcome!

FDR Distinguished Public Service Awards
On July 22nd, the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute held their 2nd annual Distinguished Public Service Awards at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in downtown DC. They had a cocktail hour featuring hors d’oeuvres such as Basil Grilled Shrimp, Lemon Parmesan Artichoke Bottoms, Peking Duck Rolls and miniature Sushi Cones. The cocktail hour was followed by a seated dinner where guests dined on a dual entree of Tenderloin and Crab Cake with Fingerling Potatoes and Asparagus Bundles. For dessert, there was a delicious Molten Chocolate Cake.
