D.C. Central Kitchen is a fantastic organization that Sara McGregor’s Capitol Catering occasionally partners with. Their organization “turns leftover food into millions of meals for thousands of at-risk individuals while offering nationally recognized culinary job training to once homeless and hungry adults.”

A corporate event glistened green at the Decatur House in D.C. on July 11th. The outdoor reception was nothing short of classy and contemporary with its gorgeous decor and mouth watering hors d’oeuvres such as Dim Sum, Lamb Kebabs, Mini Cherry-Glazed Short rib Shortcakes, Chocolate Pots de Crème, and Mini Cones of Homemade Ice Cream.

Allison and Adam were married on July 10th and celebrated their commitment at Raspberry Plain of Leesburg, Virginia. The menu featured fresh seasonal dishes such as a Summer Strawberry Salad with Champagne Vinaigrette, Grilled Spiced Sea Bass with Fresh Mango Salsa, and Gazpacho Shots. Allison’s hand crafted dessert bar was the finishing touch on a gorgeous reception! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Cohen!

Capitol Catering had an exciting day on Capitol Hill as we celebrated the annual Hot Dog Day! Hundreds of guests had the opportunity to enjoy many different brands of the American favorite while cooling off with a large selection of beer and soda. The thousands of hot dogs made for a delicious lunch and a great break from the work day. The Hot Dog Day veterans came prepared with baseballs to get a few autographs and pictures with retired players from the Cubs, Yankees and Braves. This year’s event was a great success and we are looking forward to next year!
